  • Body Braces
  • Mastectomy bras

Each insurance plan is unique and coverage for each product and service will vary. To ensure you understand your coverage it is best if you contact your insurance company to inquire about your plan details.

Compression Garments

Finding a good fitting garment begins by talking with the experienced Care-Med team. We will ask for your measurements to determine that each garment provides the right amount of compression for your body type.

We recommend the following for fabric care:
  • Hand wash in lukewarm water using a mild detergent
    • Some garments can be machine washed in a garment bag, mild cycle
  • Hang dry
    • Some custom made garments can be machine washed and need to be machine  dried to bring them back to original shape
  • No fabric softener
  • Do not use bleach, even for colour safe clothes
  • Remove stains by rubbing baking soda, an environmentally friendly compound, on the area(s).
Care-Med will provide exact care instructions upon dispensing your new garments.
As our compression products are medical garments, if you have tried them on, or in any other way handled and manipulated them, we will not be able to refund you as we will be unable to re-sell these items due to the danger of cross-contamination. This also applies to body braces.
Custom Made compression garments are an exception to this rule.

Orthotics & Insoles

To clean your insoles, you can just use a warm water and a soapy cloth. Please do not put in the washing machine.

All our insoles are supplied in pairs and we recommend you always wear them as a pair even if you do not suffer from any painful symptoms in one foot.

This can be hard question to ask, since it depends on factors including the activity levels and weight of a person as well as consideration of the length of time the insole is worn per day. Some people will have a separate insole for each pair of shoes, whilst others will move their insole from one pair of shoes to another. We would suggest that under normal conditions insoles should have an average lifespan of at least 9 months.

Lymphedema

Lymphedema is a painful swelling that happens when your body’s lymphatic fluid is unable to circulate properly and builds up in you soft tissues instead. It usually occurs in an arm or leg. Following breast surgery, many women experience a painful condition called lymphedema. Your doctor may recommend compression garments to ease your discomfort.
